I have a backup server running Veritas Backup Exec. I recently acquired a few licenses for the Remote Agent so as to backup data on other servers successfully. I have been having a problem when I try to remotely install the Agent on servers of another domain. After typing in the correct username, password, and domian name, I get an error stating that the server path could not be found. This is confusing since I am able to ping and path to the server manually. Is there a problem with the port configuration on the servers? Do I need to run a route to the other servers? Everything is on the same subnet....any help is appreciated!

I may be mistaken, but I believe it requires access to the file system through the admin share? DOn't quote that, but are your admin shares turned off? Does the account you are using to run BE have full Domain Admin rights for that matter (I know that kills it).

Just some thoughts...

Hope they help,
LM

Would it really make a difference if there are admin shares? I know that there are some admin shares, but I don't think that would affect whether or not I could connect to the server correctly...I will try and check this. I do have full administrative access to the server. Thanks.
