Guys/Gals

I have just got a new ADSL router, but I am having problems connecting it to my switch. I am unable to connect it directly, cause there is no link at all. But I am able to connect it to the network via a hub. Eg:

Doesn't work - "router -> switch"
Works - "router -> hub -> switch"

I have verified that the port is working correctly. Its not like there is a link there, even for a second. It is totally dead, unless it is run through the hub first. I have checked the cable etc, but nothing.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

The hub probably has auto polarity so it doesn't matter which cable you use where it will not work with the 1900 . Look at the cable , if it's straight thru then you will need a crossover cable to get the 1900 to work .

WOW, thankyou every much. I didn't realise that it would be that easy.

Thanks Again

I was thinking this was an odd problem.
As mention the ADSL router would need a straight cable to the switch and a hub. That auto polarity can be tricky at times just remember when in doubt also swap cables, you will not hurt anything.
