Problems using SATA and ATA HD

Just installed a new Maxtor SATA HD, and now the computer doesn't recognaize the regulat ATA hard drive. Anybody encounter this problem before?

Do you still have the Primary IDE controller enabled in the BIOS, and is the controller set as one of first boot devices?
