Problems previewing video

Hi, im currently using adobe premiere6 and am having trouble previewing video. A small x comes up in the corner of the preview screen and nothing else happens.
Ive using premiere 6 before without this happening and was wondering what i can do to preview videos im editing??

Small X = not yet rendered = only raw video comes out.

Cover the area of interest, or the whole project, with the work area bar and hit ENTER to render before preview.

Alternatively, hold down the ALT key and scrub through for a silent quick look at the rendered video on the computer screen only.
