Problems Installing DWL-500 Wireless Lan Adapter

I have installed the software as per the manual (maybe this is why it doesn't work!) and when the computer reboots and finds the wireless card it hangs. I have to remove the card to sucsessfully reboot. I have reinstalled Win98 SE and this seemed to fix the problem. However the configuration program for the card would reset the computer when I tried to use it. I have practically given up on this one after having spent about 6 hours trying to fix it and about 2 hours on the phone with d-link support.

Please help. Any help would be most appreciated.
