I want to read a web site's IIS log for instance of certain images and pages. I can not seem to get the site to log events in real time. I have opened IIS, right clicked on the web site, gone to properties and on the web site tab, chosen the properties option in the enable logging panel.
I first tried setting, in the New Log Schedule panel, the schedule to hourly. I then stopped and restarted the site's IIS. After more than I hour, and me having done some navigation on the site, there was not activity in the log files.
I then chose the Unlimited file size option and pointed the log file path to a directory I created in the site. I then did some more surfing on the site, and opened the newly create log folder. The activity was recorded in a log file. I did some more surfing, yet nothing else has been recorded in the log file.
I pointed the log path back to the directory in the system32 folder, as it was originaly.
Is it possible to get real time, like in a UNIX access raw log file, activity logging with Windows 2003? If so how?
