I'm at a school district in Middle Tennessee. We have 2 schools that have 2 different software packages (Orchard and Accelerated Reader) that use Mac client work stations connecting to a 2003 server. The problem with both programs is that the SMB connection they use limits each program to 1 user at a time.
I tried using AFP connections but they drop off after a few minutes and have to be reconnected. I tried everything to keep the connections up to no avail. It's a problem on the client Macs.
So I want to go the SMB route. How do I get it so the files don't get locked down to only allow a single user at a time for each program?
