I'm experiencing difficulties if more than one person is in the Access97 form. The error message as it appears....

"Whenever you are not using <name of database> in Access, please be sure to close it out so that others can get in and enter/review data."

Please advice on what to do with this shared database.

Why don't you split your database? (i.e., Keep the backend (tables) on the server and put a copy of the frontend (forms, queries, reports, macros, code) on the individual user PCs). Ann

Your problewm is , I think, that

"Whenever you are not using <name of database> in Access, please be sure to close it out so that others can get in and enter/review data."

is NOT a standard Access fault message - it is a message generated by the person who designed the database initially.

Why it was generated is anyone's guess.

I've had A97 databases running where all users were opening the same single xxx.mdb file and using the same forms without any problem at all
( Saving changes could become diffecult - but that's a record locking issue and nothing to do with Form usage as such )

So I'd go digging into the form design and find out why the error message is being generated in the first place.
