Problem with RDS in Studio

I'm trying to connect to an RDS in CF Studio. It works find on my local machine but I cannot add an RDS to a machine over the network. I even tried installing CF Studio on that remote machine and I get the same error:
The server returned and invalid or unrecognized response.

Why is this and how do I around it?
