Problem with port 135

i have lot computers transmitting to much traffic on port 135, so i blocked port 135 with an access-list on my router, if i block that i am not able to connect to my exchange server through outlook which beyong the router in my head office

outlook 97 works, but outlook 2000 and XP is not working

please help

You do not want to block 135 for:

. your local LAN subnet
. your exchange server

Open it back up but permit it through the firewall in these two cases. There are other ports you should allow on your private LAN and your Exchange connection:
You may be using a different firewall, but permit these ports as described in the KB article.

You might consider a proxy server such as the Microsoft IAS server.
