Hi Everyone,
I have a slight problem with a Macintosh machine connecting to a Sendmail server running on Redhat 7.3
My Setup: I have a sendmail server on an SMTP mail feed behind a DSL router. I have the IMAP/IPOP3 xinetd service running to allow clients to connect to the server via POP3.I have 10 Windows XP clients connecting using Outlook 2000 (these run like a dream) and one Macintosh connecting using Outlook Express 5 (I think it's 5 - I try and stay away from Mac's. Nasty things!)
The problem I have is that once a week the user's mailbox who uses the Mac computer freezes. If you try to send and receive on the Mac you get the error maeesage -34 which relates to "Disk Full". The Mac has 2Gb free on the HDD. Also if I do a "df -H" on the Linux mail server I can see that I'm only using 14% of the hard drive.
If I ssh into the server and do a "mail -u username" the screen just goes blank. Restart Sendmail and still I have the same problems. The only way I can get around this is to remove the user completely and start all over again. I have also reinstalled Outlook Express on the Mac (Yuk!)
Does anybody know what is going on here. I f I had my way we'd all be using PC's but I've been told we have to have this Mac :-(
Any help would be much appreciated.... and don't say chuck the Mac out of the window... although I would have to agree with you.
