Problem with NIS passwd?

Hi,
All NIS user in the system can't change their password. We try to change it on Solaris NIS client as well as Linux NIS client. FYI, NIS master is running on Redhat linux 7.3, Anybody have a clue? Thanks

SolarisClient> passwd
passwd: Changing password for user1
Enter login(NIS) password:
New password:
Re-enter new password:
passwd (NIS): Couldn't change passwd/attributes for user1
Permission denied

LinuxClient> passwd
Changing password for user user1
Changing password for user1
(current) UNIX password:
New password:
Retype new password:
Error while changing NIS password.

The password has not been changed on NISMaster
passwd: Failed preliminary check by password service

Note: I can ypcat passwd without a problem both on NIS Master and client.

yppasswd is running OK...
