Problem with IE refreshing itself

I've got a friend who has XP Pro. When he goes to ebay he clicks on ebay motors then he select AMC (or any manufacturer) in the Browse Cars by Make drop down window and clicks the go button next to it. What happens next is a vicious refresh cycle attempt. It goes to a white screen and states that it's loading (status bar says something like websearch.ebaymotors.com/.....) and then it flips back to the main ebay motors page. It repeats this cycle until he clicks stop.

He can log in under a different profile and it works fine, he can login to his company via Citrix and it works fine and I've tested it on my machine so I know it's not an ebay issue.

So, what could be causing this issue. I've had him delete cookies, history, and temporary internet files including all offline content. I've even gone and done a DNS flush but I doubt that was helpful.

With certainty I believe it is in his IE, but I do not know how to fix it.

Ran AVSW, Stinger.exe, spysweeper and adaware and found nothing.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does he have a pop-up blocker runing under that profile that he doesn't use on the other? This might cause the java script on Ebay to not work right...

OR cookies disabled? that page requires cookies..

Make sure your options in IE/ Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced are correct.

Uncheck the boxes for "Install on Demand" for IE and Other programs (two boxes).

Try running temporarily with the third box "Enable Third Party Browser Extensions" unchecked and see how this goes.

Exactly how is he accessing E-Bay? Is he going directly to the site, or using an automatic login of some sort? In my system I use "RoboForm" for auto login. It's possible that whatever he uses to log in is corrupt.
