I am using CR v10 and am having a problem with a formula. I have ticket headers and ticket line items. Some line items have a field that has a value in it and others don't. I am trying to create a formula that will place that value in all line items. IE the line items for a ticket will have a 0(default) or an 8 as a value if an 8 is found on any line items, I want the formula to show an 8 for all line items for that ticket.

Any ideas?

If you can group the line items, do a summary total and get the 'maximum' for the group. This will be placed in the Group Footer, but can be shown by a formula field in a detail line.

You could also show the 'maximum' for a detail line where the value is missing, or the value when it is there. But watch out for nulls, you need to do IsNull first or nothing will appear.

The formula to place in the detail line should look like:

maximum({table.value},{table.ticket})

...assuming you have a group inserted on {table.ticket}.
