Problem with DN in Startalk 2.0.3A 1

We have just acquired a Meridian 6x16 R5 with a Startalk running version 2.0.3A
The problem is that we have trying to get the system working with a DN of 2 digit and the phones would not ring after entering the extension.
We then proceeded to reinstalling the system a second time but this time setting the DN to 3 digits.
I created mailbox 214 with extension 214.
When I press feature *0 and int, I get "36...Port 101"
When I press feature 985, I get "Set 24"
If I enter into **config to change the DN from old to new, the system does not allow me to create a new DN of more than 2 digit (this should be 214, NO? ).
To make a long story short, I cannot get the phone to ring when entering 214 at the VM prompt. My guess is that the phone is not linked to my mailbox/extension.

sounds like the system is still 2 digit.

it sounds like the phone system is set for dn length of 21. you need to go into system programming and set to dn length of three. this will change all dn's to three digits. you don't do one at a time.

Nortellian, are you referring to the system programming of the 6x16 or Startalk?
The Meridian 6x16 manual states that DNs are always two-digits long from 21-36.
Should I do a reinstall on the Startalk and reset DN # to 3? This will wipe the database correct?

you mail and phone system need to match in digit length. The phone system is currently set for 2 digit length so if that's the only length the system will accept than you will have to set the voicemail to 2 digits. Any other compatibility i'm not sure about.
