Problem with DHCP icons not showing DNS registrations

We are eliminating a domain controllers in one of our small offices to reduce costs. The old DC was also running Microsoft DHCP and DNS so we are moving these functions to a member server in that same office. We got DHCP and DNS installed and we have clients acquiring addresses from DHCP but we are seeing a minor problem in DHCP with the icons not reflecting the fact that DNS registration is successfully being updated. We are wondering if there is a way to get the icons in Microsoft DHCP to reflect the true state of the records in DNS

We have DHCP configured to enable dynamic dns registration and for DHCP to always perform the DNS registration on behalf of the client. We have a special account and password configured on the advance tab to use for dns dynamic registrations that we use on all DHCP servers. Note that we also have all the severs in the active directory DNSUpdateProxy group.

We have taken a client and removed his records from both the forward and reverse lookup zones on the domain controller in another office that contains the active directory integrated zones where this client will register. Note that the DNS that we are putting on the member server in this office only contains secondary copies of the zones from the domain controller in this other office. When we take the client who is no longer in DNS and renew the DHCP registration though IPCONFIG we note that the domain controller is showing that it is receiving the DNS update requests for both the forward and reverse zones and the DNS registrations are occuring. When we look at DHCP we can tell by the date and time that a new lease was acquired but the icon next to the name in DHCP always indicates that the DNS registration is still pending. When we go into the DHCP logs we note that the logs are showing the DNS registrations are failing also.

Sooo..... My question is why, if the DNS registrations are being successfully made, does DHCP log say that they are failing and why doesn't the icon in DHCP ever change to reflect the registration even if it took a while for the DNS on the same member server to perform a zone transfer? One would think that at some point the icon would become refreshed with the correct state of the DNS registration. Any help would be appreciated.
