Hello,

I was running a Athlon 1600xp+ with 256 DDR ram, Geforce 3 64mb 40 GB Windows XP system. It ran fine for about a 1 1/2 years and now its Rebooting itself every 20-30mins, it just shuts off and does it again. I tried re-formatting and seeing if i had a virus but it didnt seem to help the problem so im running my old system now. Please suggest what i could possibly due to fix this problem.
Thanks

Apparently your no longer running XP. Your running your old system. What system is that and is it running OK?

There are a number of problems that could have been causing your problems with XP. You said you ran it for 1 and 1/2 years.

In addition to possible virus, trojan, or spyware, it could have been shortage of resources (to many programs running in the background), fragmented disk, and on and on.

Did you try putting the XP CD back in and reinstall it?

Could also be the power supply not providing enough power or a loose heatsink.

I just put the old system back together and when i boot it up i get some blue screen that pops up for maybe 1/2 a second to a second and then it just reboots, there is a new powersupply in the system so i cant think of what it is

i'll try that and see what happens, what should i do when that i try that command?
