I am testing an order form for my company's website. All of our hosting and Mail servers are on site. I have the form set up so that it sends the submission to me, and a confirmation e-mail to the user. During my testing, one of the form submissions got completely dropped. No error messages, and I received the confirmation e-mail. It worked the 100 times I tested it before now, and has worked the 50 times that I tested it since.

Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do to ensure that I receive Every submission? It would not be funny if someone filled out an order, received the confirmation, but we did not get the order...

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you checked the undilivered mail logs to see if the email is there, and see why it wasn't sent?

Thanks!
It is there. How can I tell why it wasn't sent?

Okay, I figured out why it wasn't sent: [SMTP server replied "Unable to connect to mail server." ]

But why?

There are some issues with cfmail and CF 4.5 -- do a search for cfmail and undelivr on the Allaire forum, for example, and you'll have posts to last you the rest of the day. I think everything is supposed to be fixed in 5.0.
