I setp a 2000 vpn server with a NT 4.0 VPN client connecting to it. The NT client can establish the connection but can not connect to anything on the other side of the network because the ip settings it gets are wrong. In the ip settings of the PPP adaptor it gets a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 when the subnet mask of the LAN on the other side is 255.255.252. Also the ip address and the gateway ip is the same.
On the vpn server we specified to use a static pool for the vpn connections instead of DHCP.
Does anyone know why we are getting the wrong subnet mask.

The ip and the gateway should be the same. The mask should be 255.255.255.255 Do a route print and let me know what it says
