Problem upgrading Linksys hub

I have a 10 port Linksys hub that I am trying to upgrade to a Linksys 16 port switch. The only change is to move all the network cables from one box to the other. Once this is done and I brfing the system back up I can browse the internet with not problems, however, when I try to get emails they are either very slow or in the case of one system that runs Netscape I get no emails read at all. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts.
