HELLO!

MY ENVIRONMENT:
APPLICATION DEVELOPED IN ACCESS 97
WINDOWS NT NETWORK
APPLICATION RESIDES ON THE SERVER
VARIABLE NUMBER OF STATIONS IN THE NETWORK

MY PROBLEM:

I HAVE A REPORT THAT NEEDS TO BE PRINTED IN A4 PAPER SIZE. WHILE IN DESIGNING MODE I CONFIGURED THE REPORT TO PRINT IN THE DEFAULT PRINTER AND A4 PAPER SIZE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT SOME TIMES THE REPORT LOOKS TO HAVE GONE CRAZY IN THE PREVIEW SCREEN AND I KNOW THAT THIS CAN HAVE TO DO WITH THE FACT OF SOME ONE HAVE CHANGED THE PAPER SIZE CONFIGURATION OF THE PRINTER. EVEN WORST IS THE FACT THAT, SOME TIMES, THE SIMPLE RESTORATION OF THE PRINTER CONFIGURATION IS NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE THAT REPORT WORK AGAIN. WHAT I WANT IS TO UNDERSTAND HOW ACCESS+WINDOWS NT NETWORK+REMOTE PRINTER WORK TOGHETER TO GET THE JOB DONE. COULD ANYBODY HELP ME?

Heres' a step by step FIX...

1. Open your report in Design view
2. Click the "File" menu then click "Page Setup"
3. Click the "Page" TAB
4. Check "Use Specific Printer" at the bottom.
5. Click the "Printer..." button
6. Choose your Printer from the list
7. Click OK
8. Ajust Landscape or Portrait.
9. Click the Margins TAB and adjust if needed.
10. Click OK
11. Click "File" menu then Click "Save" <<<<< very important

Next time you print it should work fine

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you.
