I’m having an unusual problem sending mailings to a distribution list in Outlook 2003 Small Business Edition (aren’t they all unusual?) Here are the gory details.
WinXP Pro computers, on a small domain (5 computers), not using Exchange.
There are 4 distributions lists, each with around 75-100 contacts in the list. Starting a while ago, when I try to send a mailing using one of the distribution lists, I occasionally received a message “An internal support function returned an error”. Microsoft Office Outlook is in the title bar of the message. There is no number of other indicator pointing to a specific problem, and there are no entries at all in Event Viewer regarding this error. The outgoing email message does not send. The frequency of this problem has increase and now occurs almost every time I try to send a message using one of the DLs.
I created a new test DL with 3 contacts, and messages were sent (and received) w/o any errors, which suggested that the dist list may be corrupted.
I then sent the dist list to another computer in our office and was able to send email messages to the dist lists, so the dist list does not appear to be corrupted.
So, perhaps Office is the culprit. I then did a full reinstall of Office but the problem remained.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be happening here, and how to fix it?
Thanks,
Phil
