I have a user who is able to send email normally to just about anyone except for people at this one domain. He gets no NDR and he is not being blocked on their end. We have done some Exchange logging and have seen the message leave our server (E2K) normally. With help from the other side, we have seen their Exchange 2000 server receive the message. The odd thing is that a normal successful message goes through 5 steps when it is recieved. This message only has two:
SMTP:Message submitted to advanced queuing
SMTP:Started message submission to advanced queuing

Other people at our domain can send successfully to theirs and they can send to ours. We get no unusual events in our logs. Also, neither site is running ISA server. I think we need to call Microsoft, but I'm not sure who needs to pay for the call.

Anyone ever see this before?

So I take it this is related to a single mailbox? So we're talking about a single user on your mail system who has this problem?

And is his smtp domain the same as all the other users (if only he ahs a problem)?

That is correct, a single mailbox that is in the same smtp domain as everyone else.
