Hello

A co-worker has a JPEG background for Word 2003. It was added as a background by using the Format menu, Background, Effects, Picture. Everything looks fine on the print layout and on the print preview. But, when the document is printed off a printer, the jpeg background is printed as tiled. I have only been able to find one posting on this issue and the only thing that is suggested is to use a watermark, which is not useful in this case.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Thanks....

The advice about watermark is correct, but jus do this in addition:
From the Printer Watermark dialog box, uncheck 'Washed-out'.

Otherwise, the background picture tiles if you want it or not. Same happens with Front Page. This is how is works.
The only way would, otherwise, be to make sure the picture is sized EXACTLY to the page dimensions. You can always extend the picture with extra white space if necessary, using any good image editing software.
