Hi

I'm using Quark Passport 5 on a Windows XP PC.

The file I am trying to open was saved as Quark 5 file on a MAC.

When Quark loads it displays "Converting MAC OS document" and then after a few seconds Quark closes - no error messages are displayed.

I've had the document checked and re-saved on another MAC and the only problem is a warning for a missing image.

Any ideas ?

What happens when you repair the matter of the missing image and then open on the Windows computer?

No difference.

Regardless of what fonts and images are installed the file always crashes - the worse thing is that there's not any kind of error (either Windows or Quark) to indicate what the problem is!

Check your file names and paths used in the original document. While you can get away with odd characters in the filenames of linked images on OS9, Windows cannot. For example, if Quark is looking for a linked image located on the Mac at...

Hard Drive/Documents/Quark Images/•Photo**7**.tif

...there is a good chance that the Windows version of Quark will throw a fit since Windows cannot have asterisks and bullets in the filename.
