I have been trying to open http links from Outlook 2000 by selecting the link. A Locate Link Browser popup comes up with the files of type being .exe for executable.

Can someone tell me how I can stop this from happening and just go to the link's location.

Thank you,
TomR100

First, try:

open Internet Explorer
Go to Tools-Internet Options-Programs Tab
Make sure that Outlook is selected in the email section

then:

With the Locate Link Browser window open, browse to select the appropriate browser executable (netscape.exe or iexplore.exe) and click OK.
This will reassociate your browser with links in Outlook

This changes only the association within Outlook. You may have to change the file association in other applications.

Can you tell me if you know how something like this has been set? I know that I was able to go to IE through the links at one time.

I don't know. Although the instructions I previously posted fixed MY problem, I found the following additional information:

From MS Knowledge Base

This problem occurs on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer that has Netscape Navigator 6.2 installed and specified as the default browser.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade the computer to Microsoft Windows XP or install a newer version of Netscape Navigator.

Microsoft Office 2003, All Editions
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, when used with:
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
