Hello , this is the problem. I have an e-machine computer , a virus infected it and basically shut it down but i was still able to navigate minimally around on my computer. I ran an antivirus program and after i found , looked through, and deleted the ad and spyware , i rebooted, the comp. It got me to the main screen but thats it. I clicked my folders and icons on my desktop nothing happens. I then go into safe mode to try and acees files and i keep getting kicked out and i have to log back on. I saved my important files to disk beforehand so i decide to re-install windows again with the cd rom, it loads up but then i get error message, " computer does not have enought memory or win 2k disk is corrupt. So, i go into cmos to have the computer read from floppy , i insert win2k floppy and error message says " invalid disk , disk error" , can anyone help ?

Well obvious place to start is the CD drive/2k install Cd and the floppy drive/2k floppy.

Have you another machine you can try booting the CD from to see if its actually ok? If it is, can you temporarily move CD drive from other machine to yours to see if it will now boot?

On the floppy front, the 2k install set of floppies is 4 diskettes. Only one is bootable - are you starting with correct disk? Have you a win98 boot floppy to see if its the drive that's the problem?

If you've eliminated these issues (or got it going, hopefully), I'd suggest you've got a hardware issue of another kind (I'd start with the memory - either replace with knwon good, use each stick on its own if > 1 or run something like memtest).
