I am having a problem getting Linux to recongnize both my SCSI drive and SATA drive, it seems it tries to mount both as /dev/sda

How do I fix this?

Can you have a scsi drive and an SATA drive in the same machine?

What is in your /etc/fstab?

And try to pick out the salient lines from your boot messages and post them. You can access this via /var/log/boot.log or dmesg right after boot. Please do NOT post your entire boot.log, just the bits that look important.
