When I try to connect to IIS a dialog box from the Internet Services Manager appears saying ' Error connecting to ...(Computer name) - The handle is invalid, Do you wish to continue to attempt to connect to it in the future? Whether I click yes or no, the IIS console appears but there is no connection. I haven't had the problem before and my web server used to work ok. As I haven't accessed my server for a while I don't know how long it has not been working. I tried reinstalling IIS but this has made no difference. Hope you can help...

Have you changed the name of your Server?

Try this...

Open MMC (Start, Run then type MMC). Click Console, Add/Remove Snap-in. Click the Add button in the Standalone tab.

Select the Internet Information Service snap-in (something like that anyway, I don't have IIS on this box).

Save the new IIS Console as IIS.MSC (you will have to search your drive for the old IIS.MSC and replace it) New Zealand, a great place to live.
