I recently replaced our school Windows 2000 domain with new 2003 domain + new servers about a month ago.
The domain model is like this: -
Parent Domain Controllers:
SVR-A (Win2003, new server build)
SVR-B (Win2000, old server, Global Catalog)
Child Domain Controllers:
SVR-C (Win2003, new server build)
SVR-D (Win2003, new server build)
FSMO roles have been configured across three servers.
Everything was fine until 2 weeks ago. I noticed all three SVR-A, C and D error Event 1126 - unable to locate Global Catalog.
I've also noticed Event 8003 on all servers regarding problem locating the Master Browser.
I've checked recommendations at EventId.Net & TechNet ..
- DNS SRV record is correct
- Global Catalog is configured in AD Site & Service
- The servers are communicating according to NTDS
- All 3 servers are configured to sync clock with a server
- FSMO seems to be fine
- FYI: There's no Exchange server
- Svr-B will be upgraded to W2003 soon
I appreciate any advice anyone can share. Maybe I missed something. Thanks
