I have SQL Server set up on my computer. I have one development copy of my website set up on my computer and another copy on another computer on my network, both of which connect to the SQL Server through IIS. The website on my computer connects fine to the SQL Server, but the website on the remote, network computer cannot connect. I have found that I can fix the problem by turning off my Windows Firewall. The Enterprise Manager on the remote computer is able to connect with the firewall on.
I recently upgraded my machine from XP SP1 to XP SP2, which has evidently added some protection to my machine. What firewall settings should I look at to allow the 2nd machine to connect to my SQL Server? Internet Explorer is already set up as an exception.
Thanks -Jeff
