Here's my setup:

Abit KT7A-Raid Motherboard
AMD Athlon 1.2 GHZ processor (NOT Overclocked)
512 MB Ram
MS Windows 98
(2) Western Digital HDD 20.5 Gig as RAID 0
(1) Western Digital HDD 20.5 Gig on IDE 1
48X Creative CDROM & HP CD Burner on IDE 2
Antec Server Case With fans blowing all over the place
Creative Sound Blaster Noise Card
ATI Video Card (PCI Slot)

RAID drive is partitioned to 4 drives C,D,E,F
Drive C = WinDoze & Applications
Drive D = Production stuff
Drive E = Test stuff
Drive F = Internet Junk

IDE Drive is partitioned to 4 drives G,H,I,J
Drives G,H, & I are used for misc stuff (Napster, etc.)
Drive J is used for Backups

Everything works great
Heat has never been a problem - 57 degrees C is the warmest ever

So what the !#%* is my problem ?

Whenever I run MS Backup from the RAID Drives to my secondary drive,
the system will either hang or reboot.
I can use PKZip to copy from C-F to J with no problem.
The only problem is with MS's backup.

I dont mind using PKZip for data backups but I worry about ever having to restore drive C.

Has anyone ever run into this problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks;
Edward

P.S.
Sometimes your the windshield... sometimes your the bug.
