Problem after repair

Windows XP Home with SP1 and SP2 installed.

Had to run repair on the install and the PC has now reverted to a pre-service pack state.

Cannot create dial up to download service pack.

Error trying to load service pack 2.

Would welcome any help.

PC is booting up with no problems.

However,

I Expolorer is not playing ball. Cannot run Windows Update due to Internet explorer not working. It keeps trying to connect to certain ip address but then keeps saying ' page cannot be displayed'

E-mail have come in ok though, through Incredi-mail.
