I had Roxio PerfectDisk v6.0 running on my windows system fine until I installed Windows Server sp2. Now when I try to install it again I get

Error 1920. Service PDScheduler (PDSched) failed to start.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

OK or cancel. Pressing either cancels the install

when doing the install and can''t get further. I ttried turning off the Firewall, but this doesn't seem to have helped.

Can anyone advise. I can't afford to buy upgrade to the next version which would probbaly fix it, so neeed to se if I can get my current version running. Its a lot better than the built in windows 2003 server defrag.

Thanks
Andy

SP2 for win2k3? I think you may be confused as there is no SP2 out and released, only Release Version 2..

Came across both of these since putting up this message

However tried all the options (Turning DCOM on, turning firewall off, opening ports, and still no luck). Tried an evaluation version of PerfectDisk 7 and it couldn't see my local computer, so it doesn't look like its worth upgrading.

Can anyone recommend a good defragmetor for win 2003 server. I actually only need it to defrag the computer win 2003 server is running on (not remote ones) but I gather its best to only user a server based defragmentor
