I have a Pro*C program that is crashing - but the cause is not clear (partially because it runs as a service and partially because it happens on a server abroad).

I have not found anything that defines the action of the Oracle client when the Server shuts down, or the network drops. Can anyone point me to an explanation in the documentation or explain the consequences. It appears at present that the Oracle client (9.2.0.1.0) produces a fatal error thats causes the whole application to fail.

TIA

Paul
