Private information store problem

Hi,
I have had this problem for a while, in the private Information store properties and then in the mailbox resources I find the Internet Mail Service disabled with 389MB used!!! And I think this is growing the month. Does anyone know of this problem and how best to deal with?

I also have the same problem, with 3800 items and 1.2gig.

In the event log I have this:

Event ID: 2018
Source: MSExchangeIS Private
Type: Information
Category: Transfer Out Of Gateway
Description: The generation of a delivery report or a non - delivery report for a gateway /o=MyOrg/ou=MySite/cn=configuration/cn=connections/cn=internet mail connector has failed due to error 0x4dd.

This is what Microsoft has to say about it.

CAUSE
The Delivery Report cannot be created because the mailbox of the Internet Mail Service has reached a quota. This quota is the one being defined in the Exchange Server Administration program. This quota is defined when you click the server in the left pane, click Private Information Store in the right pane, and then click Properties on the File menu. On the General tab, there is an area called Storage limits that has three check boxes: Issue warning (K), Prohibit send (K), and Prohibit send and receive (K). Next to each check box, there's a box where you can specify the actual value.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server version 5.5. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 3.


The problem is I am on Service Pack 4 for a long time and the versions are higher than those listed above.

I need to know how to clean this up. Exmerge doesn't take Internet Service inbox.

Please help.

anyone know anything more about this? i am having the same issue after moving my exchange to a new server.

Guess I will add my two cents. I am having the same problem. Mine started when I tried to filter out messages from yahoo.com at night. I would setup the filter through the exchange administrator at night and open it back up the next morning. This worked for a while until I rebooted my exchange server and now I get these messages.

Have looked on web and Microsoft's web site. Of course, since Microsoft is now on Exchange 2003, exchange 5.5 is not being supported.

If anyone has an idea or a fix, need to know.
