Good Day

We just set up a hunt group for our maintenance team.
Then we created a shortcode with the priority call features.
evrything is working fine they all get the call.get into the conference room and be all on the call

The only problem that we have is the call initiater see's that he is in the conference room let say 4200 but the others on the hunt group dont see anything except "external call"
We are running IP office 500 ver 9.0 (36)

And the phones are DECT phones (ASCOM D81)
On The deskphones in the other hand it display this: "FROM CONF 4200 EXT %3epriority%20 call"

Thank you in advance for any Q's

Those are 3rd party phones and so do t benefit of being integrated into system features in the same way Avaya handsets are, so this is normal and can't be changed :)

That should have said "Those are 3rd party phones and so don't have the benefit of being ....." Fu@&ing iPhone :)

The problem is that we want the maintenance see the name of the internal caller or the name of there huntroup instead of external call.
because they are part of 2 huntgroups Maitenance and evacuation

they are set a sip in avaya
and they are managed by asterik A60 autonomously.

ASCOM is actually the maker of the avaya wireless and DECT Handset. it is the same hardware just 2 different logo's

Those handsets run their own brand of firmware they are not Avaya handsets, as such the system can't manipulate the display like that, the issue is the handsets run SIP and that kind of information isn't passed with SIP, the handsets are responsible for displaying external call...not the system. If you want integration use the proper handsets for the system :)

A priority call does not show the name.
This is the way it is.
Also if you use SIP phones it is even worse.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

so your saying that i have to look on the asterisk side instead of the ipo side then.
because all the displaying is working fine. caller id,Huntgroup etc. it is only that specific shortcode with the priority call feature that is wrong.
Even on the deskphones it display the info in a wierd way.
so is there a way on the desk phones to replace the "FROM CONF 4200 EXT %3epriority%20 call" with the caller id or a TAG info ?

Thanks

Thank you tlpeter

Is there a way to achieve what we want with a different feature

we want to call a hunt group and everyone on that hunt group to get on the call. not just one

Thank you

No, that's the only feature that works that way. What are the deskphones? Are they Avaya or are they something else and/or running on the Asterisk? Why is the Asterisk involved at all?

Asterisk is for the ascom phones .because we had a Push to talk feature and it is driven by asterisk.
But the maintance did not like that feature because of some functionality so we are looking for an alternative .that is why we used the priority call feature
The deskphones are Polycom ip soundpoint 650 but the calling that we are talking about is just for thw wireless handsets.

So we just want to call a internal number that calls a group of extensions and everyone can answer to join the call.
Thanks

That's why the Polycoms display funny....for the same reason as the others...3rd party. This sounds like a very suspect build, do you have any Avaya handsets? Why is the Avaya in the mix at all? This sounds like it was built up by someone not very clued up on any of the elements involved and how they would interact....no offence intended if that was you, just a million miles from anything I would suggest :)

The phone compagny suggested to go with avaya.
Since we wanted to do Push to talk the only one in the market that does that is ascom because they have a partneship between avaya and ascom.
For the deskphone. they suggested the avaya phones and the polycom. and the upper mamagement prefered the Polycom phones.
BTW the polycom phones are working fine and they have and do all the stuff that the avaya phones do.

Now to go back to my question and assuming that all is avaya.
is there a way to call a hunt group and have everyone answer the call and get into the conference room.and they all can see who called or what conference room they are in.since tlpeter said that priority call does not diplay the caller ?

Thanks

I very much doubt that, they may do the same as you have your Avaya phones doing but that's a different story. Do they do visual voice for example?

And as I said in my prev post, which you may have missed... No, that's the only feature that builds a conference call from a group call :)

Did you try to add a text to the shortcode to call a priority group?
SC = *900
TN = 900"Maintenance"
Feature = Priority Call

SC = *901
TN = 900"Help me"
Feature = Priority Call

Thank you Intrigrant for your suggestion but when i do that and i call the sc i get a error like if the TN is inexistant

You will, that's what the system tries to dial... not what it tries to send as caller id :)

I have done that once but you need to try different options in the TN part of the shortcode, I can't remember how I exactly got it working but it did for a large company needing priority calls for accidents and fire were the called party could see what the reason of the call was.
The used Polycom SIP Phones ( not Avaya ). This was on version 5 though, maybe Avaya have changed something somewere without any announcemant, they do that from time to time.
I have left the company which has this customer as a client so I do not have access to the config anymore.

Really, perhaps the s character in there then?? :)
