Hi,

I have an application that will, on demand, print out a collection of MS Word documents.

These docs have been submitted as part of an upload process on a website so could be from any version of MS Word.

Currently we are using Word automation to do the printing, however to be able to print all the possible versions of word documents available means the user will have to the latest version of Word installed. Not ideal when most have Office 97 and we are looking at installing on a lot of desktops!

So, does anyone know of any way to print all types of Word docs without Word installed, or regardless of the version installed?

I'm googling around and have yet to find a solution or a component that can do what I want...

Cheers
Marc

Well you don't seem to be asking too much..... [smile]

How about useing Automation to "Save As" an HTML document instead.. Or maybe getting some save to PDF component...

IN short, I just don't think there is any easy answer when you are using multiple versions of Word. The solution seems to be to save it to some Generic Format that any client can read..
