printing question

I have a program that prints to receipt printer. It works fine on my XP system.

I then put this program onto a touch screen machine running 98 and only half the receipt ever gets printed out.

Has anyone any suggestions to solve this.

does 98 have a differing printing system to xp perhaps? Surely the process of printing is controlled by the printer's driver. I can print normal text files without any problems
