Please Help!

Trying to print impositioned quark files through INposition 2.5.4. (separated colours on film)

a) when the file includes adobe illustrator EPS image this prints in all films (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) in equal amounts so I get only muddy brown image instead of the real colourful.

b) when I rotate 180 degrees the imposed pages through the INposition sometimes I get a postscript offend command error through the rip and the file cannot be printed.
Please Note: The same file if printed directly from quark has no problem or if I trashed the INposition preferences and make a new publication in INposition, it may be printed (not always).

Any help, soonest possible will be highly appreciated
Thanks

Sorry are you printing as seperations or as composite?

Which version of Illustrator are the EPS files in ? If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

(a) Print: As separations
The image is printed in each film as if it is monotone, resulting muddy brown colour only.
Illustrator EPS: 9.0 - 8.0 - 7.0 - 6.0 - 5.0/5.5 (all tested)

(b) Already solved! In less than 20...

Is the image coloured in Registration, or are the eps saved as RGB images. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

Illustrator EPS images: saved in CMYK

Is there any possibility to solve this problem through separation setup in Illustrator? Please note: I am printing on an imagesetter, through an OPI software (based on a UNIX server) and the inclination of the printed dots for each separation are locked on the RIP.

Have worked on a number of Imagestters and Rips, and have not come across an image as bad as this.

If his is a iusse with all Illustrator files with Inposition, and you are using the same print driver for both pages not going through Inposition and those that are. It would point to Inposition causing the problem not the PPD or the Rip it's self. I would talk to INposition direct. email: technical@dka-europe.co.uk

Sorry can't be any more help.
How about converting the pages to Hires PDF's and putting those in the pagination.

If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

The one & only up-to-now solution to my problem:

Upgrade in QXpress ver 4.11.

why use INposition when it could
be layed out Imposed
for the press in quark
did it this way for years
press wise
INposition lite
but quark was easer for me Greg
