I created documents with placed PSDs that have transparent backgrounds. After I have printed these documents, I get slight color inconsistencies where the transparent part of the image should have been. How do I solve this problem and still keep a transparent image file?

Are you ripping on a high end rip? such as Rampage or a Creo-Scitex rip. These slight colors is it like a scum dot in the image?

Make sure that you are working with transparency effects in the same color model. You would not want to place a semi-transparent CMYK PSD file over a spot color in ID.

Adobe has some detailed documentation about using transparency in ID2 and Ill10. Check out the keyword 'transparency' on adobe.com
