Hello all.

I've just set up my new dual 1.4Ghz G4 which came with OS10.2.4 only. We have other macs in the office running OSX but these machines also have OS9 installed.

My mac will only print from OSX compatible software but I desperately need it to print from Quark 5 which is OS9 native. I'm waiting to hear if i'm eligible to upgrade to Quark 6 which I know I would be able to print from but I need to print from Quark 5 asap.

The printer is a Ricoh Aficio 6503.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Can't you add OS9?

Current OS's: 9.2.2 & 10.2.6

When you have Quark open, you can still access the chooser under the apple menu, just like in OS9. That should allow you to select a printer, as long as it's installed correctly.

Newer Macs have been a bit of a culture shock for many, as they stopped allowing you to boot in anything less than OSX (unless you create another partition). Classic mode, which Quark runs in, gives you more or less the same functionality, but it can be messy.

As for eligability for upgrades, well every Quark owner is eligable, but if you bought version 5 recently, you may be entitled to upgrade for free. Check with your vender.
