Hello,

I am trying to print from Linux to a windows based Xerox Printer (DocuCentre 230 LP). So far I have had some success. I have managed to successfully send a test page from the Linux machine to the printer, however the printer had trouble with the file when it received it because of the paper type.

The Xerox printer configuration program I used (xpadmin) will allow you to specify some elements of the output - the stock type for example - but I cannot tell it to print to the correct paper type.

At the moment the file is coming up as "Other" whereas all the trays are set to "Standard". I can make this change at the printer, but this is not at all practical as the traffic through to the printer is high and is set up as "Standard" on all the (windows based) machines that use it. Does anyone know of a way that i can force Linux to send it's printing as "Standard"?

Thanks for any help.

Does xerox have drivers for linux? We have a docucenter and it uses lpr/lp settings in windows.
