Hi All

This isn't really a W2K issue but the particular issue only started when W2k was placed on the PC

I have a user at my office on a W2k machine tyring to print text files from the command prompt using the following
c:\copy [filename][network printer path]

Now this works fine but any text that goes beyond the margins gets shunted to the line below having the affect of messing up the formatting.

The user claims he used to be able to compress the print so it would fit to the page and keep the format intact, although he doesn't know how.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

Thanks!!

Simon

If you right-click the shortcut to CMD and select properties, you may be able to set font size and layout.

In the past i have first used a net use command to map lpt1 to the desired printer as in
net use lpt1 \\printserver\printer

followed by
copy <path>\filename lpt1

and if it was a graphics file, sometimes typing
copy /b <path>\filename lpt1 would print the file perfectly.

Does any of this help?
