Hi
I have an NT4 network (dead give away since i'm posting to this forum), a printer attached to an NT4 Workstation on the network and a networked Windows ME laptop.
I am trying to print to the printer from the ME laptop using a normal login but it keeps on asking for a password. I managed to install it only using the Admin logon. Can anyone suggest where this conflict is. Other users on the network can print ok on their logins.

Thanks

Are you in an NT domain environment or is this just a workgroup environment?

I am assuming that the NT workstation has a printer attached to it using a parrallel cable...? This printer is then shared out on the network.

The clients then browse to the NT workstation and can see the printer share..

Most clients can then attach to the printer and print documents and such. However, the Me workstation, must provide logon information before being allowed to print.

Is all this correct?

Thanks for the reply, it is pretty much the circumstance with ME connected to a network, trying to print to a printer attached to a NT4 workstation.
So are you saying that the user must supply their network password when they want to print? Or do permissions need to be set up on the printer itself?
