I'm a foxpro developer for a large company. Recently I was asked to import and print a large number of barcode sheets (we use these sheets as document seperators in our imaging system).

After doing the import and checking to ensure the barcodes look ok, I attempt to print 5000 of the 41,000 pages. Output is to a large, highspeed Xerox printer, so no problem there. The foxpro application pops up the printer dialog and I choose both the printer and the page range. Then comes an error that the page range I need is outside Windows print range of 1-9999 pages.(I wanted pages 36,000 - 41,000).

Question is: Is there any way to get around this windows limit???? I resorted and re-imported my data so that what I needed to print fell with Windows 2000 page range, but what a headache. Nor is it a trival matter as I will end up printing over 160,000 pages!!!!

Is there a registry setting I can change? Or is it a windows limit???

Thanks in advance

The setting comes from the manufacturer of the printer driver, it is not a windows limitation.

Hmmm. I just set one of my Xerox 6135 DocuTech or whatever it is as the default and tried to send 40,000+ paages. Windows printer dialog box comes up and if I try to set the range greater than page 9999, a message comes up and says it's out of range. This is why I don't think it's specific to the printer itself, as the same range is indicated for ANY printer I choose... Oh well, I guess I'll have to live with it and work around it.

I indicated a range of page 50000-110000 on my HP laserjet without objection.
