i have a 125 page document i wish to publish in a book, but not sure how to make it into printer's spreads. if it is a short thing, i usually make a dummy and set it up manually. how do i make 125 pages of type printer's spreads?

You could drag the pages around in Quark, but normally it is best to use an xtension like inposition lite or the full blown version of inposition. There is a cheaper xtension to do it, but I can't remember the name right now.

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Before you start doing this, always, always check with your printer. Not some sales guy, but the person who will actually be working with your file. Believe me, there are lots of places that absolutely hate designers doing their own impositioning, and would much rather use their own software. Sometimes trying to 'help' can be the most unhelpful thing you can do, both for yourself and the printer!

I should also point out that it's common practice these days to supply Quark documents in normal page sequence. If your printer says otherwise, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Printers do not like Quark files in Printers spreads.
The reason is they use inposition software and in Quark you can
make EPS pages on all this will number the pages and make it easy
to add to the layout.
If you have printer spreads you must use box eps to create the spreads then keep ttrack of the page numbering.
