printers disappear

Hello ,
sometimes my printers disappear(in the folder printers) after trying to print , at the printer a page comes out with the next message
PCL XL error
subsystem:kernel
error: unsupported protocol
operator : 0x0
position : 0
then i've to restart the spooler service and then it works againg.
This happens at undefenite times.

What service pack are you using on the NT print server? You should upgrade to the latest.

I had the same problem. It's a Bios thing.
Reboot your machine to get into the BIOS setup.
Change the lpt port settings. If it's ECP , EPP , normal , or bi-directional. Try each setting.

It's service pack 4 , but in fact it's a windows nt server terminal edition , so can i use the service pack off the normal ntserver version ?
I can only find security patches for the terminal server ed.
