Hi,
We've got a print server running on W2K3 in another department...it is not a DC. The printers from this print server are listed in an OU in AD. The problem is these printers will regularly disappear from AD and the only way to get them back is to go to the printers and delist/relist them back into the directory...then drag them back into the correct OU.
Apparantly the users can still find the printers using their UNC paths, but we've got a script that needs to find them in the AD OU, and when they are not listed the script breaks again until we manually relist the printers.
I've read some things about printer pruning possibly? Not sure I want to turn that off though. Is there something special I need to do to this W2K3 server or to the DC servers to keep from delisting these printers?
We have printers setup on one of our DCs and do not have this problem with any of them...just the ones on the non-DC server in the other department.
Thanks,
Matt
