I have a HP 722c printer that is attached to computer running NT. The printer is properly shared and everyone can print to it.

Now, I have a laptop running W98 which I am tryn to get to print to the above printer. Here's my delemma.

(1) The drivers for this printer on not on the 98 disk.

(2) When I go to ADD PRINTER and try to add a network printer and try to get the correct drivers from the disk, it tells me I have to go throught printer setup program and wont install.

(3) When I go through the printer setup program it will only let me install to LPT1 (remember there is no printer physically attached to this laptop).

So how do I get this to work?

so the laptop is connected to your network ? go to and download the windows 98 drivers, install them through add printers, have disk etc. dont worry about lpt1 just now just go ahead with it. once thats done you can then change the path under DETAILS to wherever the printer is on your network ( \\ginger\hp722 )
